Meet the League
Premier Division
The Premier Division is the top level of the USAFL system. Contested by 12 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and regulation based on the previous season's standings. The USAFL Regular season champion and runner-up receive automatic placement while wildcard round winners in the USAFL Bowl Tournament are awarded the final two spots.
United States Division
The United States Division is the second-highest overall division in the USAFL system. Each season, the two clubs who lose in the wild card round of the USAFL Bowl Tournament and the winner and runner-up of the USAFL Consolation Cup Tournament are awarded spots in the USD. Known as the black and blue division of the USAFL, the USD tends to be the most contested and evenly matched among the three.
Commonwealth Division
The lowest tier in the USAFL system. The bottom four clubs from the previous season are regulated to the CWD. The division winner automatically promotes to the USD giving teams that may regularly underperform a chance to compete at a higher level.
