This Thursday brings Thanksgiving, special achievements, and the fourth week of division collision as we enter the last three weeks of the regular season.
Perhaps not a marquee matchup at first glance, the #7 Vinegar Strokes take on #8 Ebola in a decisive game for a top position within the Commonwealth Division. Along with the #6 Ducks who face a down-on-their-luck Koala, two of these teams may be the odd one out as a wildcard spot seems unlikely for a CW team.
In the U.S. Division, two of the hottest teams in the league square off against their less than capable division counterparts. Nash Kato looks to be the first 10-win team of the season as they strengthen their grip on the #1 spot in the USAFL. Only a game behind, #3 Yankee Zulu wants to keep pace and not be a #2 or #3 team stuck playing Wildcard weekend. Meanwhile, the Hawks and Takada are hoping for a streak of luck to grab a wildcard spot as both have already been eliminated for a division title this season.
In the Premier Division, a pivotal game between the Whitefish and the Penguins will almost guarantee a playoff spot for D.C. and keep playoff hopes alive for the Pens. Mathematically, the Pens can still win the division with 3 straight losses by both the Whitefish and World's Finest. Both World's Finest and D.C. are looking for a streak of wins to grab a first-round bye. Antlers Up - A-Town needs three straight wins for a chance at the playoffs and they have shown shades of contendership when they prepare themselves for the week.
