Week 4 Preview

Three marquee games this week and three that are interesting given the circumstances thus far in the season, especially as the new rankings have just been released.

The main event this week has the #2 Ebola! (3-0) going head-to-head with the #3 Yankee Zulu Club (2-1). YZ leads the lifetime series six games to two games, but this season Ebola has a slight statistical advantage based on the last three games. This could be an early preview of a final four or USAFL championship game.

Two rivalry games add interest to this week's episode as #5 World's Finest (1-2) travels to take on #6 Nash Kato. A rivalry that dates back to 2003, World's Finest maintains a slight advantage in the series 12-10 and if that wasn't close enough, these teams are separated by 0.004 in the power index. The second rivalry game features #7 Holy Penguins (1-2) who are off to an unusual rough start this season going up against their most even franchise rival at an 8-8 all-time stalemate, the #4 Sanctus Koala (2-1) who is averaging an impressive 120 points-per-game.

The bottom of the card isn't less impressive and has some games with major implications this early in the season. Certainly, the David vs. Goliath matchup between the #12 Ducks (0-3) and the #1 Whitefish (3-0) makes for great entertainment this week. Can the Whitefish continue their dominance and dispatch the freshman? Or... will the Ducks pull off the greatest upset in recent memory? The #8 Hawks (1-2) and the #10 Strokes (1-2) both look to make up ground in their respective divisions, as does the #11 Monster Army (1-2) and the #9 Deer Antler Addicts (1-2) who all need wins to play catchup to the division leaders.
